High on the hillside above the north east coast of Corfu and overlooking the very pretty coastal village of Nissaki, stand Paleopetraki and Paleopetroula. Two almost identical villas which together could accommodate a group of 12.
The road winds steeply up through the olive groves towards the tiny hamlet of Apolisies… arriving for the first time you may very well wonder where you are going! Persevere – it will be worth it!
The view from the villas is just breathtaking…a 180 degree panoramic of the coast, and the Corfu Channel across to Albania and the Greek mainland on a clear day you can see Paxos to the south.
Paleopetroula (the name of Paleopetres literally means “the old stones” in Greek) has been totally constructed using the best in modern technology with beautifully weathered original materials – stone, wood and brick .
The driveway between the houses is paved with cobble stones as in the ancient walkways in Greek mountain villages and the attention to detail is impressive. Although newly built the house fis into the setting as if it has been there forever. Once inside however you will appreciate that this is a thoroughly modern house where nothing has been overlooked.
The interiors are chic, cool and stylish. A beautifully hand- made kitchen, stylish modern bathrooms and attractive furnishings and fabrics create a relaxing ambiance and comfort seldom found in rented villas.
The entrance level offers the fully fitted kitchen leading through to the dining area and living room with glass fronted fireplace. From here you can access the shaded dining terrace and the pool area. Downstairs on the lower garden level is a double bedroom and shower room plus the guests cloakroom/WC. Back up and up again to the upper level two very spacious double bedrooms with en suite bathrooms and small balconies complete the accommodation. The views from all rooms are incredible but better seen in the photographs as it’s impossible to describe them! The forth double bedroom with en suite shower room (on request and payable extra) is also on the lower garden level.
Outside the pool terrace houses an attractive freeform, pool, generous sunbathing area with sun loungers and a shaded sitting area where you can just laze and gaze at the view…
Although Paleopetroula and Paleopetraki share a driveway entrance, they are totally separate villas and secluded behind high stone walls so that privacy to guests in each house is ensured. However rented together they would be an ideal venue for a larger family gathering or two families wishing to holiday in close proximity to each other.
There is a €500 inventory deposit required (fully refundable) – payable in resort.
