The main beach in Santa Ponsa is Platja de Santa Ponça, located in a sheltered bay between two rocky points and backed by trees and buildings on the edge of the town. The main beach at Santa Ponsa is a brilliant place to take your family if you’re visiting Mallorca in the summer and want to spend a day making the most of the good weather. The water close to the beach is relatively shallow and calm thanks to the bay, so it’s a pretty safe place for children to go swimming as long as they are supervised.
There’s a lot of space on Platja de Santa Ponça, but you’ll find lifeguards stationed in certain areas where you should swim in order to remain as safe as possible. The beach has a Blue Flag rating for cleanliness and there are plenty of facilities and places to eat close by, so you can spend all day on the sand without having to travel far for anything you need.
Jungle Parc is constantly rated as one of the best things to do in Santa Ponsa for families. It’s an outdoor adventure park and course with activities just as tree-trekking, high-wire courses and zip lines, with four different courses to choose from depending on your age and ability.
The largest rope course in the Balearic Islands, Jungle Parc offers as much fun for adults as it does for children. It’s a great place for a family day out, allowing you all to face any fears of heights and encourage one another through the treetops on an adrenaline-filled adventure.
Jungle Parc has also recently opened a special course for children between the ages of 4 and 12, so there are options suitable for all family members. You'll find the park just northwest of the town centre, so it’s easy to reach on foot if you don’t have a car during your trip.
Santa Ponsa’s position on the coast means that a great activity to enjoy whilst you’re staying in the town is a boat trip from the beach out along the coast. If you’ve got older children and you’d like to see more of the island, taking a boat trip on a calm and sunny day is a brilliant idea.
There are plenty of different boat tours available from Santa Ponsa, ranging from hour-long excursions to full-day trips. You may also be able to hire a boat exclusively if you want control of where you sail to or are part of a large family group and want to enjoy the trip with just your relatives.
Boat tours are also a great way of trying snorkelling and scuba diving in Santa Ponsa, which is a great activity for children that are confident swimmers. These tours often provide you with all the equipment you need and take you to particularly interesting dive sites along the coast, so they’re really worthwhile.

This is a great place to bring children that are interested in history or who want to learn about the past of the place you’re visiting on holiday. It’s also a fantastic place to admire views of the whole town and the nearby coastline, especially if you pick a day when the weather is bright and clear.
Families can explore the Puig de Sa Morisca Archaeological Park by following the different winding trails that circle the hill and meet at the top points. It’s not a place to bring very small children as the walk can be steep at times and may be tiring for little legs, but it’s a great place to visit for an afternoon if you want to connect to Santa Ponsa’s history.
