About Puerto Pollensa

Puerto Pollensa, like many resort towns on the coast of Mallorca, was once a fishing village that became popular with visitors to the island and gradually developed into one of its most popular places to stay. It’s famous for its beaches and holiday resorts and is a great place to visit if you’re the kind of traveller who likes everything they need on a holiday in easy reach from their accommodation.

Best Time To Visit Puerto Pollensa

The main draw to Puerto Pollensa is the beach, so the best time of the year to visit this town is in the summer months between June and August where the temperatures will be high and the chances of rain will be very low. If you’re not that keen on visiting the town during the peak season for tourism, the shoulder seasons of April-May and September-October will be ideal, with warm weather but fewer crowds.

Best Things To Do To In Puerto Pollensa

One of the most popular things to do in Puerto Pollensa is spending time on one of the town’s beaches. Port de Pollença Beach is the main stretch of sand, but D’Albercuix Beach is also nearby and ala San Vicenç, Cala Barques and Cala Molins are a little further out but well worth the journey.

As well as sunbathing and swimming, there are plenty of opportunities to enjoy watersports in Puerto Pollensa, with snorkelling, kayaking and paddle boarding all available from the shore.

Best Places To Go In Puerto Pollensa

The beaches of Port de Pollença Beach and D’Albercuix are some of the best places to go in Puerto Pollensa if you want to enjoy the beautiful Mallorca coastline and views of the sparkling blue ocean. The nearby Tramuntana valleys are very popular with hiking fans, whilst boat trips to Cap de Formentor on the very northern tip of the island offers the chance to see a rugged and remote part of Mallorca.

The nearby historic town of Pollensa is also only a short drive away from Puerto Pollensa and makes an excellent location for a day trip.
