In this guide, I’m sharing my favourite places to go in Mallorca, based on my own experiences exploring every corner of the island — from the famous spots everyone raves about, to some lesser-known gems I’ve completely fallen in love with.

Whenever I visit Mallorca, I always make sure to spend some proper time in Palma. As the capital of the island, Palma is packed with life — amazing restaurants, buzzing bars, and top-end shops are just the start. There’s also so much history and culture to uncover, from beautiful old buildings to some really impressive landmarks. It’s the perfect blend of city excitement and holiday vibes, all in one spot.

The Santa Maria Cathedral, also known as Palma Cathedral or La Seu, is one of the main tourist attractions for many visiting Mallorca. Its symbolic religious significance, alongside its rich historical background and stunning architecture, all make Santa Maria cathedral somewhere that is definitely worth going to when exploring the island.
Palma’s Old Town is perfect for those seeking a little serenity when visiting the bustling city. The quaint courtyards and pretty squares are great spots to soak up the traditional Gothic architecture and enjoy a drink or two as you people watch to your heart’s content.
If you fancy seeking a little royalty when visiting Mallorca, then a visit to the Royal Palace of La Almudaina is a must.
You will find the palace situated next to Palma Cathedral, where it has been since the 10th century. The palace displays predominantly Gothic architecture, with elements of its previous Islamic structures remaining and allowing insight into some of its rich history. You can wander through the many rooms in the palace, which is a great way to discover how the royals once lived and continue to live today.
Castell Bellver is one of the few circular castles left in Europe. The impressive structure was built in the 14th century and is situated atop a hill, approximately 2 miles west of the centre of Palma. Exploring Castell Bellver is another great way to immerse yourself in the history that surrounds the city of Palma.
Situated on the northwest coast of Mallorca is Port de Pollensa. One of my absolute favourite places to unwind is Port de Pollensa, up on the northwestern coast.
It has this laid-back, family-friendly atmosphere that I instantly fell in love with. The beach here is amazing — wide, golden sands with warm, shallow waters that are perfect for a swim. I always find myself trying out the watersports too, whether it’s paddleboarding or snorkelling.
Plus, with the Tramuntana mountains close by, you can squeeze in a bit of adventure if you fancy. It’s quieter than the big resort areas, but that’s what I love — great food, great beaches, and a peaceful setting.
Alcúdia is one of those towns I always recommend to anyone visiting Mallorca.
It has such a lovely mix of things to do, with its charming old town full of markets, traditional Spanish restaurants, and cute little boutiques. I personally love wandering the historic streets and checking out the beautiful Casas Senoriales.
And if you’re with family, the beaches are fantastic too — long stretches of soft sand and calm water to enjoy sunny days by the sea.
If you’re craving pure beauty and a bit of peace, Deia is the place.
Tucked under the dramatic Teix mountains, it’s one of the most breathtaking spots I’ve been to in Mallorca.
There’s something incredibly calming about it. Cala Deia beach is a little hidden gem I always head to — it’s a pebbled cove where you can just sit, listen to the waves, and soak in the scenery. It’s far quieter than the busy resorts, making it perfect when you want to slow things down and really unwind.
One of the most popular beach resorts is Santa Ponsa, situated in the west of Mallorca. Santa Ponsa always feels like classic Mallorca to me. It’s lively without feeling overwhelming, with a gorgeous beach lined by cafes, bars, and restaurants.
I love spending lazy days here, mixing up beach time with a walk along the promenade. There’s also loads of watersports for anyone feeling adventurous. Plus, with nearby marinas offering boat trips, you can easily head out on the water.
And if you like a fun night out, Santa Ponsa’s nightlife definitely delivers with great bars and clubs.
Not to be confused with Port de Pollensa, Pollensa is such a special little town, and every time I visit I’m charmed by its narrow cobbled streets and old-world feel. It’s completely different from Port de Pollensa, even though it’s just a short drive away.
One of my highlights here is hiking up to Puig de Maria — it’s a bit of a climb, but the views from the top are incredible. There’s even a historic monastery up there to explore. It’s a great spot if you want a more authentic, cultural vibe mixed in with a bit of adventure.
Cala D’or was one of the first resorts in Mallorca to attract holidaymakers and has been welcoming tourists ever since. Whenever I’m in the mood for a romantic escape, Cala D’Or is always at the top of my list. This resort just has such a relaxing and slightly exclusive feel to it.
I love beach hopping between the five pretty little coves — the water is so inviting, and the beaches are picture-perfect. The marina is also a must-visit; it’s such a lovely spot to sit with a drink or meal, watching the yachts bobbing in the water and people going about their day. It’s got just the right balance of vibrance and tranquillity.
