Description

Quality refurbishment! This charming traditional villa is in a great location. Known as Pont Roma because of its situation by the old Roman bridge right at the entrance to the historic town of Pollensa, it is perfectly located for Pollensa’s fabulous Plaza Major with its pavement cafe bars, shops & restaurants (just a 10 minute walk  (Google Maps confirmed)). True to their word, the new owners have brought this property right up to date without sacrificing its local charm. Many extra features and facilities have been installed, including stylish modern bathrooms, Mitsubishi air conditioning to the bedrooms, High Speed WiFi internet access, attractive modernised kitchen, digital flat screen TV, new quality bedroom furniture throughout from John Lewis and El Corte Ingles, comfortable new sofas, and a new “Chill out” Space  for youngsters.
Pont Roma boasts an excellent garden and pool, which is rather special in this part of town. The entrance to the property is situated on a “no through” road which offers easy parking. Serious walkers and hikers may be interested to know that this is at the start of an attractive and famous walking route to Lluc (a 4 hour journey through majestic scenery along the GR-221 Ruta de Piedra Seca (Dry Stone Route) and a dedicated Refugi is situated nearby, patronised by walkers and cyclists for its homemade and inexpensive meals and refreshments.
You enter the white painted property with its wood shuttered windows, through a gated entrance into the private garden where you will find a 8m x 4m swimming pool set in lawns, with Mallorquin style al fresco kitchen and state of the art BBQ (almost a complete second kitchen in its own right), there are several seating / dining areas to enjoy the sun in both the morning and evening. The garden has its own special and intimate charm, it is lawned, with mature palms, shrubs, bushes and hedges, including bougainvillea and oleander, that provide great privacy and a beautifully green setting for the cosy villa nestling in the grounds. Alongside the BBQ and terrace is a garden shower-room and WC which is very convenient when around the pool, and provides an extra bathroom for larger groups.
Coming into the house through the main door, you step into a large entrance hall (4m x 6m) with comfortable new sofa and armchairs, off this living area is the Snug, an inner sitting room with new flat screen TV, satellite channels and DVD player, and a selection of DVDs. Next door to the Snug is the cosy air conditioned fourth bedroom, with smart twin beds and covers, wardrobe and chest of drawers. To the right of the entrance hall, a door takes you into the large kitchen which has double aspect windows, and its own separate door out to the garden and terrace areas. The kitchen has a fresh and modern look, featuring a large breakfast table (set for 6 but extendable to 8 seats) and designer Jakobsen chairs. Naturally, it features a new fridge freezer and dishwasher, whilst retaining a traditional, separate large pantry.
Upstairs, there is a “Chill out” Space for youngsters, three air conditioned bedrooms, two double (one with own romantic balcony terrace) and one large twin. The two newly refurbished bathrooms at opposite ends of the open hallway have their own style and feel, one with walk-in shower, hand basin and WC, and the other features a new marble, stone and tiled configuration straight out of a designer magazine.
Overall, the uniqueness of this property is its combination of convenient location, a charming appearance, and the enclosed garden and the calmness it offers, that make Pont Roma an oasis surrounded by vibrant village life, with all the amenities on hand (bakery and grocer within a couple of hundred metres).
Amenities: Plaza Major, shops, and restaurants all a comfortable walk nearby, Golf (9 holes) 1km, Tennis and horse riding Pollensa.
Beaches: the long white beaches of Puerto Pollensa, and the bays and coves of Cala San Vicente are just a ten minute drive.”

  1. What to say…firstly what a beautiful house. We have stayed in a number of houses around Pollensa but none quite like this. It is enchanting. And so beautifully furnished.
We liked to walk into townin the morning to buy pastries and lunch from Il Giardino, spend the day by the pool and in the evenings stroll into town for dinner. And then just repeat . . . . . .
I’m sure we will be back!

  2. A most enjoyable and memorable holiday in your gorgeous villa. So well equipped, we wanted for nothing. We particularly loved the outside kitchen and & facilities & thoroughly enjoyed our Bar-B-Q’s there.
We would recommend this pretty villa to all our friends.
    thank you

Beautiful gardens at the villa so well looked after by Pep, and a great pool for the kids!

  4. A fantastic couple of weeks at this lovely villa, great for our family holiday (3 generations!)
We loved the pool and the garden – well looked after by Pep 🙂
Attending the Patrona festival was a great experience too.
We love Pollensa and have visited many times; our first ‘stay’ here in this lovely villa has has made it even more special – I am sure we will be back!

  5. Lovely villa. Very well maintained and equipped. We have stayed in the region before and this is the first time we’ve found a villa described as “within walking distance of Pollensa” as actually ‘truthfully’ being walking within walking distance.
Loved our stay and were sorry when our holiday ended.
Thank you for providing such an enjoyable stay.

Quirky house with beautiful garden and fabulous location
Three generations of our family stayed in casa Pont Roma aged from late 20 to early 80s and had a wonderful holiday.. The outside space was particularly appreciated and the provision of the table tennis table was a fun addition for the more energetic. The house allowed for separate spaces to be sociable or watch TV without disturbing the rest of the party. It would have been good to have a downstairs toilet which was not outside as the stairs were quite steep. The location was great, within walking distance of the pretty town.

Great location, pool and outdoor space
Our only reason for not giving 5 stars was lack of bathrooms in the main house for 6 adults and 1 child. Outdoor bathroom great during the day but not for use during the night. One bathroom ready for an update which we know is due soon. That said it’s a lovely house with good ammenities and easy to walk into Pollensa to eat and for the bakery nearby Could have done with some more wine glasses and a bolt for the new garden gate. With a toddler he could have opened the gate if we were not vigilent but we put a sun bed across! Sounds more negative than positive but we had a fab time – just constructive feedback!

VidaVillas response: Thanks Lesley, you are correct the 2nd bathroom in the main house has now been updated for the 2019 season.

    Superb Amazing Family Holiday!!!!!
This villa was in a perfect location to get into Pollensa Old Town the Accommodation was superb including the pool area and manicured gardens. outside bbq kitchen with fridge and dishwasher was of a very high standard even though we didn’t get round to using it. If we chose to come back to Pollensa we would definitely stay here again. Furniture in the villa to a very high standard the owners have thought of everything our Grand Children loved it so much they cried when we had to leave yesterday.

    What a fabulous villa!
Have stayed in villas in Pollensa for over 20 years and this is one of the best by far – a real family home.
Thank you for sharing your home – if you ever want to sell?

What a fabulous property! The location, within easy walking distance to the lovely centre of the old town with plenty of shops and restaurants, was perfect. Easy parking outside and less than ten minute drive to several lovely beaches. The house is well stocked and very comfortable with air conditioning and several good spaces for different groups to relax in. The garden is really beautifully kept and of a very good size with a great outdoor kitchen and a very good pool which the kids (and us!) spent many hours enjoying. To find a property with such great outdoor space and big pool so close to the old town make this a very special find. We’d highly recommend and would definitely return.
