Cala San Vincente, also written as Cala Sant Vicenç, was originally a fishing village that supplied many of the nearby towns with seafood and gradually grew to be a part of Mallorca’s tourist industry. Despite getting placed more firmly on the map by the range of holiday accommodation on offer around the village, it still retains some of its original charm which is what attracts a lot of travellers to come and stay here.
Cala San Vincente is a great place to stay if you want to enjoy a beach holiday in Mallorca, meaning that the best time to come and stay in the village is over the summer when the weather is at its warmest and driest. It doesn’t get excessively busy here, even in the peak season for tourism, so if you’re worried about crowds you can still visit when the weather is good.
Because of its small size, there’s not a huge range of things to do in Cala San Vincente other than visiting the beaches and enjoying the handful of beachfront attractions. The little bays here are lovely for swimming and sunbathing, with a couple of great spots for snorkelling.
San Vincente is a great place to stay if you want to visit popular places like the coastal town of Puerto Pollença and the lively Pollença further inland.
The best places to visit in Cala San Vincente are the four sheltered beaches on the coast; Cala Barques, Cala Clara, Cala Molins and Cala Carbó. These are great for swimming and snorkelling, and can also be visited by boat if you want to explore the coastline.
Puerto Pollensa is the nearest town to visit for a day trip, which has a larger range of attractions and a bigger beach with several watersports activities on offer.
The beaches at Cala San Vincente are located to the northeast of the town on the northern coast of Mallorca. There are actually four white sand beaches in sheltered bays at the edge of the town that are referred to as the Cala San Vincente beach; Cala Barques, Cala Clara, Cala Molins and Cala Carbó.
The best beach to visit in Cala San Vincente will depend on what you are looking for when you spend time by the sea. Cala Barques is the largest beach and the most likely to have space even when the weather is hot and the town is very busy, Cala Molins has the best water conditions for swimming or snorkelling, whilst Cala Cabro is smaller and quieter but has a more pebbly beach.
