Palma is also often referred to as Palma de Mallorca, and began its life as a Roman settlement in around 123BC. A lot of the original city was destroyed during the Spanish Civil War, but some historic architecture still remains, especially in Palma’s Old Town. The city is now one of the most popular tourist destinations in all of Spain, seeing thousands of visitors flock to the beachfront, hotels and restaurants every year, particularly in the summer months.
Palma is known for having perfect weather, with almost 300 days of bright, uninterrupted sunshine every year. The best time to visit the city if you’re looking for high temperatures is over the summer between June and September, but you’ll still get relatively warm and dry weather if you visit in the shoulder season for tourism outside of this period.
